  • Arranging 1 - Rhythm Section: studied of the necessary elements of effective arranging: adaptation of the melody and chords, rhythm section notation, intros and endings, articulations and dynamics, and how to create an emotional contour throughout the arrangement
  • Songwriting for Film and Television: learned about key areas that make songs work great with picture, such as writing songs to be media-friendly, and writing/orchestrating songs so the song effectively communicates time, location, and dramatic tone
  • Orchestration 1 & 2: studied characteristics and idiomatic writing techniques for each orchestral instrument, as well as approaches for writing for the full orchestra. The course included extensive analysis of orchestral scores and listening examples, in addition to interviews with industry professionals
  • Film Scoring 101: Concentrated on composing original music to work with visuals. The course focused on working around dialogue, syncing music and onscreen events, and in-depth analyses of film scores.

  • Berklee College of Music Celebrity Scholarship. Awarded the Celebrity Scholarship in the name of Herbie Hancock in June 2011
