NEW AUDIO FILM SCORING DEMO

Hey loyal listeners, I just completed (last weekend) the Berklee course "Music Composition for Film and TV." Awesome class. Our final project was to put together a 3 minute audio film scoring demo using the pieces we had to compose every week for the past 12 weeks. The scenes and genres ranged across the film spectrum, covering all sorts of emotions from horror, to comedy, to tear-jerking ballad, to action (and more). Needless to say, I was busy!

Please have a listen to my film scoring demo. Our professor gave us examples of industry-standard formats to follow, so this demo is right on the nose of something you'd pitch to a producer or director.

Here is a nice quote from my professor on my demo and my performance this past term: "Very nice Megan. The ballad at the beginning is great. Beautiful melody and harmony. It's good that you didn't let that go for very long. Actually, you timed all of the cues well...moving on to the next just as I thought... "OK. I get the idea."I like that you have the more "contemporary" one in here with the loops, etc., as well. Good demo Megan. You demonstrated a wide range of compositional abilities and good production capabilities. Good demo and good work this semester."

After all that hype, enjoy the demo!

BACKING TRACKS

Hello all, I decided to include an example of my backing track service. A local songwriter, Justin Vedder, came to me with a song he had written but needed music for. He had the lyrics and melody, but needed it to become an entire song. So I composed a "backing track" for his melody. His and my song is entitled Cut Me Down. I may be singing the lead on this in the near future. Stay tuned. In the meantime, enjoy this instrumental version of Justin's song, which I composed.

Another tidbit of news: I might be licensing the use of my electronic song Fantasy in an upcoming iPhone app video game. I'm not sure of many details yet, but I will be receiving a promo/demo of the game soon. The man in charge is currently also preparing a contract so I can add a minute to Fantasy (right now it's a bit short.) Yay for that! My music might be featured in an upcoming iPhone app game. Pretty swell. I'll let you know more details when I get them!

Hey all, I recently finished a biggish scoring project; I was asked to score the short film Men and Monsters by Nick Van Slambrouck. He is a New York Film Academy grad, and is co-partners with Jeff Cravalho on Crusade Films. Please check out their site! I worked on Jeff's film The Irredeemable a little while ago, and his film is also in post-production. I can't wait until both films are finished being edited to see the final product!

For now though, please enjoy this teaser track from Men and Monsters ...stay tuned for the finished film.

I composed this track to accompany the web video for the America's Daily Deals website. It is short, catchy, and perfect for corporate use.
